Synopsis: This critical bill for children repeals the statute of limitations in civil suits relating to child sexual abuse cases and provides a two-year “window” in which victims can bring a civil action in cases previously barred by the current statute. This bill will expose child predators and anyone or organization that enables them. Time is running out to protect Delaware’s children: Although SB 29 was passed 19-0 by the Delaware State Senate on April 4, it is currently in committee in the House. Swift passage of The Child Victim’s Act, without crippling amendments, is up to us — the grassroots coalition of parents, grandparents, families, friends, advocates for children and victims of childhood sexual abuse.
