Child-predator unit proposal is a good start in a big fight

Attorney General Beau Biden's Child Predator Unit is a good step toward protecting Delaware's children, but it is only a first step. Because authorities have not yet identified the majority of sexual abusers, the Child Victim's Act (S.B. 29) is the critical next step. It will expose sexual predators and protect children. A coalition of Delaware citizens supports this bill. It includes law enforcement authorities, the medical community, mental health counselors, child advocacy groups, survivors of childhood sexual abuse, ecumenical groups and many others. The bipartisan list of legislative co-sponsors demonstrates the importance of the bill to all citizens who prioritize protecting children. Let's make sure the General Assembly gets it right and passes the bill without amendments. I am confident that they will.
